Members of Detective Branch (DB) of Chuadanga District Police arrested two persons along with 172 bottles of smuggled phensedyl, 248 sacks of maize and a truck from Kirongachhi village in Sadar Upazila of Chuadanga District on Thursday.
The arrestees are identified as Sohag Mia, son of Shafiqul Islam and Sohag Hossain, son of Noor Alam of village Akondobaria in Darshana thana of Chuadanga district.
According to Media Cell of Chuadanga Police, on information a team of Detective Branch of Chuadanga District Police raided the area.
At the time a truck was going to Sorozgonj from Kharaguda village while the DB police team intercepted the truck and found maize loaded on the truck.
After searching at least 172 bottles of phesidyle worth about tk. 3,42,000 was recovered from the truck.
It may be mentioned here, the truck and 248 sacks of maize were also seized. A case was filed with Chuadanga Police Station.
