Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), in an anti-crime drive, arrested two alleged top-listed firearms traders with six firearms and ammunition in Naogaon on Sunday night, RAB sources in Rajshahi city said that on Monday.
According to the RAB sources, the arrested person was identified as Muhammd Ridoyof Sheikhpara area and Muhammd Shishir of Hamidpara village, both under Gomostapur Upazila in Chapainawabganj district.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of the elite force conducted a drive in Adda Bazar area under Niamatpur upazila in Naogaon district around 7.30 pm and arrested the persons with a foreign revolver, five one-shooter guns and one round of bullet red-handed.
The RAB team nabbed the persons for his alleged long-term involvement in firearms trading and trafficking.
A case was filed with Niamatpur Police Station in this connection and the arrested persons along with the seized firearms were handed over to police on Monday.
