RAB on Sunday night detained two men with 447 bottles of Phensedyl by conducting a drive at Zadurchar area in Savar, on the outskirts of the capital.
Md. Jiaur Rahman Chowdhury, ASP and Media officer of RAB-4 confirmed the matter on Monday.
The detainees were identified as Md. Tuhin Hawladar, 22, and Md. Shafiq, 20. Both are hailing from Barguna district. Jiaur Rahman said, getting secret information, a team of RAB-4 led by Additional Superintendent of Police Jamir Uddin Ahmed on Sunday night conducted an anti-drug special operation at Zadurchar area of Hemayetpur in Savar. After searching the house of one Boba Milion, the elite force detained them. Later the RAB personnel recovered a total of 447 bottle of contra banned Phensedyl syrup hided into seven bag from their possessions.
"We got to know that accused were supplying Phensedyl in capital and its adjacent areas for long, collecting from country’s border area. Preparation to take further legal action in underway", he added.
