Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested two alleged gold smugglers along with 30 gold bars, weighing around three kg 500 grams worth TK. 2 crore 17 lakh from Boroachra village in in Benapole Port police station on Saturday noon.
The arrestees were identified as Iqbal Hossain 32 son of Abdur Rajjak and Omor Faruk Roni 34 son of Ajijul Munsi of Boroachra village in Benapole port police station.
Lt Col Salim Reja , commanding officer , 49 Border guard said that ,A team of the border guards, acting on a tip-off, arrested Iqbal Hossain and Omor Faruk Roni along with 30 pics Gold bar while they were going to India through Boroacra border village. They have been smuggling Huge Gold to India for long.
They confess to the BGB interrogation. CO added.
Later BGB men filed a case and handed the smugglers over to Benapole Port Police station.
