Two fraudsters have been handed over to the police on charges of making fake documents in the guise of fake donors and recipients.

Pabna's Ishwardi sub-registered Rafael Fatemi arrested them and handed them over to Ishwardi police after they were caught cheating during interrogation after seeing documents raised during the last hours of the land registration process on Tuesday.

The recipient of the seized fake land is Manju Pramanik. He is the son of Kalom Pramanik of Chargarhgarhi village in Sahapur union of Ishwardi upazila. Another fake donor is Nowsher Ali. He is the son of Nafshar Ali of Choksadipur village in Kumarkhali of Kushtia district. When the incident came to light, Ishwardi's document writer and identifier Abu Saeed and his assistant Abdul Halim fled the registry office area.

Sub-Registrar Rafael Fatemi said Ashraf Pramanik, son of Joynuddin Pramanik of Chargarhgarhi village in Ishpur's Sahapur, came to Kushtia's Kumarkhali's Nawsher Ali's house on Wednesday afternoon for his son's name. The deed from the recorded ownership land is misleading when the donor is asked his or her own, father’s and donor’s name in the registry. Donor Nowsher is suspected in this. After extensive interrogation, they were found to be fraudsters and the two were handed over to the police. He added that a case has been filed against the three involved in the incident at Ishwardi police station.

When contacted, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Ishwardi Police Station Sheikh Nasir Uddin said a case has been filed against three persons at Ishwardi Police Station for making fake documents. Manju and Nowsher, who were arrested in Hatena, were sent to jail through a Pabna court on Wednesday.
