2-day Digital Innovation Fair ends in Rajshahi

The two-day "Digital Innovation Fair 2022" ended on the Collegiate School playground in the city Wednesday evening with a call to make people aware about the importance of elevating the country to a smart one.

Through the fair, large numbers of people availed the scope of getting aware of the e-services at their doorsteps.

They also gathered experience about important and regular services in-venue to understand the mechanics and advantages of the electronically transformed services.

Such services have reduced time of transaction and made the process fairly simple and transparent with most efficiency towards public satisfaction.

Latest ICT products, multimedia classroom, mobile banking and e-learning materials had been put on display at 50 stalls of four pavilions at the fair.

The District Administrat­ion arranged the fair in collaboration with Cabinet Division, ICT Division and A2i with the main thrust of encouraging people to use Information and Communication Technologies for building a 'Smart Bangladesh'.

The main theme of the fair was 'Udbhabony Joyullashe Smart Bangladesh'.

Rajshahi Mayor and Presidium Member of Bangladesh Awami League AHM Khairuzzaman Liton addressed the closing ceremony as chief guest, while Deputy Commissioner Abdul Jalil was in the chair.

Rajshahi College Principal Prof Abdul Khaleque and Additional Superintendent of Police Ashraful Alam also spoke.

Prof Selim Hossain from the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering in Rajshahi University talked about various innovative topics, including smart technology and artificial intelligence while addressing the session as a focal person.

He narrated the goals and objectives of the government's digital innovation fair saying tremendous successes already achieved through digitisation in every sector throughout the country including Rajshahi region.

In his remarks, Mayor Liton said the fair is a step towards providing extensive services to the citizens, adding that the government has been working sincerely for making all services available at the doorsteps of the people in a hassle-free manner.

The public in general have been getting digital services like e-governance, e-education, e- agriculture, e-health and other e-services at the union, upazila and district levels.

The government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is working to build a 'smart digitalized Bangladesh' based on information technology by 2041, he added.

The guests also gave awards to the best digital innovators in the fair.
