A 2-day children’s fair organised jointly by Pabna district Information Office and Ishwardi upazila administration under the slogan of ‘Awareness-raising communication activities for the development of children and women’ started in the upazila on Wednesday morning. Ishwardi upazila chairman Nuruzzaman Biswas inaugurated the fair. Children from different schools and colleges in the upazila brought out a colourful procession prior to the inauguration of the upazila.
Ishwardi UNO Ahammad Hossain Bhiyan presided over a discussion organised marking the occasion at the upazila parishad premises. District senior information officer Mohammad Farhad Hossain delivered the welcome speech at the event conducted by secondary education official Salim Akhtar.
The fair consisted of multiple stalls, film exhibition along with competitions and cultural events. A number of sports and cultural competitions have been organised in the fair. Upazila chairman Nuruzzaman Biswas is scheduled to distribute prizes among the winners of the competitions at the closing ceremony of the fair today.
