Bangladesh registered two more deaths from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8am Wednesday. The total number of deaths has reached to 27,983 with the latest figure.
The country recorded 282 new infections in the meantime taking the total number of people infected to 1,576,566, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Wednesday.
The current positivity rate stands 1.50 percent and the overall positivity rate stands at 14.45 percent.
In addition, the death rate now stands at 1.78 percent in the country, added the release.
The two deceased were one female and male each from Dhaka and Khulna.
A total of 18,851samples were tested across the country till 8am Wednesday.
Some 383 Covid-19 patients have recovered during this period. A total of 1,540,965 people have recovered from the virus so far and the recovery rate stands at 97.77 percent.
As of Wednesday, 5,237,000 people died of Covid-19 across the world and 263,226,798 have been infected so far, according to Worldometer.
