Two motorcycle riders have died as their bike was hit by a car in Habiganj's Madhabpur upazila. They were going from Sylhet to Narayanganj.
The accident took place at noon on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway at Noapara Karra in the upazila on Saturday.
The deceased were identified as Jannat Akhter, 25, and Emon Ahmed, 26, both residents of Narayanganj.
Shayestaganj Highway Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Taufiqul Islam Tawfiq said an unidentified vehicle hit a Dhaka-bound motorcycle from Sylhet and fled. Jannat died on the spot.
The injured were rushed to Madhabpur Upazila Health Complex where doctors declared Emon dead. The OC also said that the two were returning to Narayanganj on a motorcycle from Sylhet. Attempts are underway to find their full identities and the fleeing car.
