An social organisation named Green Movement Bangladesh planted 2,000 saplings of forest and medicinal plants on the bank of Padma River near Afzal Mandal Hat in Charmadhabadia union of Faridpur Sadar upazila on Sunday.
At 11 am the members of the organisation inaugurated the tree planting campaign with Kazi Mohitul Hasan Bibul, a leader of 90's mass uprising.
Saud Ahmed Khan Pranto, Fahad bin Hasan of the organisation, former Chairman of Charmadhabdia Union Tuhin Mandal and officials of the forest department were present at the time.
Earlier, the organisation had planted 500 palm trees and 300 forest and medicinal plants in different parts of the district.
