In observance of the 18th Founding Anniversary of Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology, Vice-Chancellor of the varsity Professor Dr Rafiqul Islam Sheikh inaugurated the newly build RUET Modern Medical Centre on the campus on Wedbnesday (Sept-1.) morning. The Vice-Chancellor also laid the foundation stones of the extension works of Bangabandhu Sheikh Muibur Rahman Hall and the Tecahers' dormitory.
Among others, Vice-Chancellor Prof Rafiqul Islam Sheikh was attended by RUET Registrar Professor Dr Selim Hossain, IQAC Director Professor Dr Abdul Goffar Khan, Student's Welfare Director Professor Dr Rabiul Awal, President and the General secretary of RUET Teachers' Association Professor Dr Faruk Hossain and Professor Dr Mia Jaglul Sadat respectively, Admin of Central Computer Centre Dr Ali Hossain, Deputy Directors of Students' Welfare Mamunur Rashid and Abu Sayed, President of Officers' Association Dilip Kumar Ghose, Chief Engineer Shahadat Hossain, Amit Roy Chowdhury, Naim Rahman, President and General secretary of Employees' Assoc Mahidul Islam and Abdullah Al Mamun Shuvo respectively.
Earlier in the morning at 10-00, RUET VC Rafiqul Islam Sheikh inaugurated the day's programme by hoisting the national flag and the flag of the varsity and by placing floral tribute on the portrait of Father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the grave of the martyred students of the varsity. The programme also included tree plantation, releasing of fish fries in the ponds of RUET, Idea Contest and a special prayer seeking welfare of RUET and the nation at RUET Juma Mosque after the prayer.
