The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have detained 17 Bangladeshi nationals in Jhenaidah’s Maheshpur when they were trying to intrude into Indian territory.
They were detained from Srinathpur border outpost (BOP) in Maheshpur on Saturday night, BGB sources said.
Quoting the battalion director of BGB-58 battalion Qamrul Ahsan, Additional Director Mehedi Hasan Khan said acting on the tip off, a contingent of BGB cordoned the area and detained 17 Bangladeshis, who hail from Khulna and Bagerhat districts. The detainees were handed over to police. A case was filed with Moheshpur Police Station.
