Members of Border Guard Bangladesh(BGB) in a drive seized 17 gold bars from Panchbhulat frontier in Sharsha upazila of Jashore district on Saturday.
Commander of 21-BGB battalion Lieutenant Colonel Tanvir Rahman said, being informed, a team of the force conducted a raid in the area. The team asked two men to stop for their suspicious movement.
But the duo left the place immediately leaving two packets wrapped with papers in the frontier. Searching the bag, the BGB men found the gold bars weighs one kg and 983 grams, he added.
None was arrested in this connection.
