Some 17,689 more citizens were inoculated with the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine on Sunday in Rangpur division where the Covid-19 situation continues showing an improving trend in recent weeks.
“Among the 17,689 citizens, 17,657 were inoculated with the Sinopharm Covid-19 vaccine and 32 citizens with the AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine today,” Divisional Director (Health) Dr Md Motaharul Islam said.
“With the inoculation of 17,689 citizens with the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine today, the total number of the first dose recipients rose to 18,92,533 in all eight districts of the division.
Among the first dose recipient 18,92,533 citizens, 5,97,075 people were vaccinated with the AstraZeneca Covid-19 jab, 11,64,548 people with the Sinopharm Covid-19 jab and 1,30,910 others with the Moderna Covid-19 vaccine in the division.
“Meanwhile, the number of the second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine recipient citizens rose to 7,66,324 with inoculation of more 15,493 people with the second dose of the jab today in the division,” Dr Islam added.
Among the 7,66,324 second dose recipient citizens, 5,24,459 were inoculated with the AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine, 2,18,493 people with the Sinopharm Covid-19 vaccine and 23,372 citizens with the Moderna Covid-19 vaccine in the division.
