161 infected with coronavirus in red-zoned Bogura within 24 hours

As the number of corona virus tests is increasing in Bogura, declared as a red zone, so is the number of people infected with Covid-19 is increasing in the district. 

Bogura Deputy Civil Surgeon DrMostafizur Rahman Tuhin gave such information while giving an online briefing on the latest corona situation of the district around 8pm on Sunday. Among the 773 corona samples collected from Bogura, tested in Dhaka and Bogura 161 came positive on Sunday.

With this the total number of corona infected patients rose up to 790 in the district. The first corona patient was found in Bogura on April 1. Since then 53 people survived corona infection and returned home in the district while 7 people including 2 women succumbed to death from the infection. 

The Deputy Civil Surgeon said that out of the 773 sample results received on Sunday, 550 were tested in Dhaka thay were collected on May 30 and 31. Of the remaining 223 samples, were tested at Bogura Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College and 35 at the PCR lab of the private TMSS Medical College. 

Out of the 161 newly infected people, 118 are residents of BoguraSadar, 11 are from Shajahanpur, 11 from Gabtali, 5 from Shibganj, 3 from Kahalu, 8 from Sonatla, 1 from Sherpur, 2 from Dupchanchia and 2 are from Nandigramupazila.

He further said that although 8,932 samples have been collected in the district so far, tests of 6,442 have been completed. As per the sample test, the rate of corona infection in the district is 12.28 percent, the recovery rate is 8.70 percent and the death rate is 0.7 percent.

He added that the new victims would be treated at their respective homes for the time being. However, if the condition of any of them seems critical, they will be shifted to Mohammad Ali Hospital.
