A second shipment of 15 meter gauge rail coaches from South Korea has arrived at Chattogram port.
On Wednesday afternoon, the process of clearing the coaches started at Jetty No. 12 of Chattogram Port.
On December 24, the ship named MV Star Taichi left for Chattogram port with coaches from Korea.
The new coaches are scheduled to be taken to Pahartali factory via Chattogram Goods Port Yard (CGPY) after unloading. Railway General Manager (East) Jahangir Hossain said, the new coaches have arrived at the port. The process of redemption of these is going on. Railways has decided to purchase 150 coaches from South Korea to speed up the railways. A total of 30 meter gauge coaches have arrived under this project, 15 each in the first and second consignments.
