A 14-year convict prisoner had died at Jhenaidah District Prison on Monday morning. He was landing in the prison since January 2 last and staying at the ward number 3. The deceased was Milon Lasker, son of Atiar Rahman Lasker of Pobahati village in Jhenaidah town. Jhenaidah District Prison jailor Mahiuddin Haider confirmed the death of Milon Lasker.
Jailor Mahiuddin Haider said, Milon was landed in the prison being awarded for 14 years in a case under Women and Children Repression.
At about 640 in the morning, he was feeling sick after the Fazr prayers. He was taken to Jhenaidah 25-bed general hospital, where the attending physician declared Milon dead.
The body will be handed over to the family after completion of the post mortem at the hospital, jailor Mahiuddin Haider said.
