120 sacks of rice recovered

Police recovered 120 sacks of rice allotted by Government for selling among destitute during corona virus crisis for Tk 10 per kg, which were stocked for selling in black market from a village in Bogura on Saturday.

The rice sacks were recovered conducting a raid at the house of Mostafizar Rahman of Gonkpara village of Saidpur union under Shibganj upazila of Bogura. Additional Superintendent of Police of Bogura Sanatan Chakraborty   said that the operation was conducted on the orders of Superintendent of Police Md. Ali Ashraf Bhuiyan, based on a secret news. 

The operation was led by Shibganj Plice Station Assistant Police Superintendent Kudrat E Khuda Shuvo.  Mostafizar detained during the operation said, that his cousin Saiful Islam Saju, had brought the rice from a dealer and kept it in his house.  Operation is underway to catch Saju and the dealer. The government rice was stored for selling in the black market.
