Distribution programme of updated National Identity Card (Smart Card) is going on full sowing in Chatmohar upazila of Pabna.
A total of 12,083 smart cards will be distributed in the municipal area and eleven unions of the upazila in phases. The smart card distribution began on Sunday through a distribution meeting on the Nimaychara UP Complex premises.
According to the sources of Chatmohar election office, the Election Commission has issued updated National Identity Card (Smart Card) in the name of those who registered to vote from Chatmohar upazila at the age of 18 in 2019.
Upazila election officer Alamgir Hossain said that the card distribution programme will continue till February 25. A total of 1,040 smart cards have already been distributed.
