12,000 families receive Ctg Zilla Parishad relief

Chattogram Zilla Parishad Chairman and North District Awami League President MA Salam urged all to stand by the day laborers, lower and middle class people who have lost their income and are living a helpless life during the coronal lockdown. He said that in this lockdown, many people have even lost their ability to buy daily necessities. All the organizations and rich people have to come forward to deliver food to their homes.

He made the call while handing over food items to the people affected by the Corona pandemic in the port city on Monday at the initiative of Chattogram Zilla Parishad. While handing over food items at the post bungalow of Chattogram Zilla Parishad on Sarson Road in the city, MA Salam said that the government was implementing a lockdown to prevent the second phase of the Covid-19 spread.  There is no alternative to this lockdown to save human lives.

Therefore, Chattogram Zila Parishad has taken initiative to provide food to 12 thousand families.

He later handed over the food packets to the district council members.

Chattogram Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Officer (Deputy Secretary) Shabbir Iqbal said food aid was being provided to 12,000 families affected by the Corona pandemic in the district at the initiative of the Chattogram Zila Parishad.  

Each packet of the food items contained 7 kg rice, 2 kg gram, 1 kg sugar, 1 liter oil, 1 kg flour, 1 kg lentils, 200 g powdered milk, 4 packets lachcha semai and a soap, he added. Chattogram Zilla Parishad Secretary Senior Assistant Engineer Md Rabiul Hasan was present during the distribution of food items.  

Monirul Islam, Member Sheikh Md. Ataur Rahman, AMM Dilsad, Zafar Ahmed, Shawkat Alam, Kazi Abdul Wahab, Kamrul Islam Chowdhury, Debabrata Das, Abu Ahmed Chowdhury, SM Alamgir Chowdhury, Md. Jasim Uddin, Advocate Umme Habiba, Rehna  Begum, Ferdousi Chowdhury, Shahida Akter Jahan were present on this occasion.
