Bangladesh registered 11 more deaths from Covid-19 till 8am Monday. With the latest figure, the total number of deaths has reached to 27,699.
The country recorded 599 new infections in the meantime taking the total number of people infected to 1,562,958, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Monday.
The death rate now stands at 1.77 percent in the country.The current positivity rate stands at 2.58 percent and the overall positivity rate is 15.67 percent, added the release.
Among the 11 deceased, two were men and nine were women. Seven of the deceased were from Dhaka, two from Barisal and one each from Khulna and Mymensingh.
A total of 23,193 samples were tested across the country till 8am Monday. During this period 634 Covid-19 patients have recovered. A total of 1,524,467 people have recovered from the virus so far and the recovery rate stands at 97.54 percent.
As of Monday 4,868,939 people died of Covid-19 across the world and 238,724,799 have been infected so far, according to Worldometer.
