About 1004 patients were treated free of cost through a free medical camp on Nolmonigonj High School premises in sadar upazila in Chuadanga on Friday in honour of late Professor Dr Rakibul Islam Litu of Boalmary village in the upazila.
A five-member medical team conducted the camp. The expert physicians were Mostak Rahman Joarder, heart disease specialist, Dr Nipendra Nath Biswas, consultant (ENT) and associate professor of Faridpur Medical College, Dr. Salma Shahnawas Parvin, associate professor of Faridpur Medical College, Dr. Shafiqul Islamm Jipu and Dr. Yasir Arafat Malik.
Chuadanga Medical Students' Association arranged the free medical camp. Poor and middle class people of the areas came to the camp for treatment.
Abdul Bair, former headmaster of Government Primary School said he came at the camp for getting treatment ENT as the physician is qualified.
Anisur Rahman Anis, a member of Mominpur union in sadar upazila told this correspondent Dr. Litu used to come at his native village Boalmary and arranged treatment for all free of cost. He gave medicine free of cost to the poor patients. In honour of Dr. Litu Chuadanga Medical Student Association, led by Dr. Salma Shahnawas Parvin, associate professor of Faridpur Medical College arranged the camp.
Headmaster of Nilmonigoj High School Sohel Ahammad said separate teams of male and female students of the school worked as volunteers for conducting the camp.
