10 more Covid patients died at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) during the past 24 hours till Sunday 10 am.
RMCH Director Brig. Gen. Shamim Yazdani said among the dead, seven are of Rajshahi, two are of Chapainawabganj and one of Naogaon.
With the deaths, the death toll from June-1 to June-20 at RMCH stands at 203 while with the admission of 54 more Covid patients during the last 24-hour the total number of admitted patients at the Corona unit of the hospital is now 377 as against 309 regular beds. The number of total admitted Corona patients at RMCH was 365 yesterday.
Meanwhile, infection of Coronavirus in Rajshahi has been found positive among 195 patients by testing samples of 415 patients in two laboratories of RMCH. The rate of infection is 46.99% which is 16.93% more than that of the previous day (Friday) which was 30.06% while on Thursday and 41.50% on Wednesday.
Laboratory sources of RMCH informed, 280 patients identified Covid positive by testing 652 samples in four districts of Rajshahi division. Excluding Rajshahi, Corona was found positive among 22 in Naogaon, 63 in Chapainawabganj and two persons preparing to go abroad.
A press release from the Director of Health, Rajshahi division, said from March-10, 2020 to June-20, 2021, the total number of Covid positive patients in eight districts of Rajshahi division was 47,257. Of those 35,316 were recovered and 4,673 were hospitalized. The total number of deaths in the division during the period was 726. The districts are: Rajshahi, Chapainwabganj, Naogaon, Natore, Joypourhat, Bogura, Sirajganj and Pabna.
