Dhaka metropolitan magistrate court on Monday sentenced 10 BNP leaders and activists including BNP central executive committee member Sheikh Rabiul Alam Robi to two years and six months’ imprisonment in a case filed with Kalabagan police station in 2013.
Dhaka Metropolitan magistrate Mohammad Jasim announced the verdict.
However, the court acquitted 57 other BNP leaders and activists the case.
The other convicts are Shah Alam Saykat, Shahidul Hauqe, Jahirul Haque Dina, Mozammel Haque Babu, Jakir Hossain, Shahin, Md Noman, Elan and Kamruzzman Chowdhury.
The court also fined them Tk 10,000, in default, to suffer two more months in jail.
Kalabagan police station’s sub-inspector AFM Moniruzzaman filed the case over explosion of four to five cocktails in Kalabagan bus stand area of the capital on October 26, 2013.
