1,200 illegal gas lines snapped in Gazipur

The Gazipur office of Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Limited disconnected 1,200 illegal household gas connections in different areas of Gazipur.

The Titas gas authorities, with the help of the district administration, conducted the drives in Gazipur metropolitan area on Sunday.

Executive Magistrate Farjana Islam led the mobile court the conduct the raid. The mobile court fined 15 people 1.36 lakh and jailed another four months in the city’s Paler Para and Baroboika areas for using gas illegally, said Suruj Alam, manager of Titas’s Gazipur regional office.

He said drives were carried out as part of the regular operation against illegal gas connections.  Gas connections at some 400 houses were disconnected, he added.
