1,100 Bangladeshis return home in four days

A total of 1,090 Bangladeshis have returned to the country through Benapole International Check Post within last four days. The passengers, who were stranded at various places in India under special management, returned from India.

According to the Benapole Immigration Police, 235 Bangladeshis returned to the country through Benapole International Check post on May 14, 270 on May 15, 375 on May 16 and 210 on May 17.

Dr. Habibur Rahman a medical officer of Benapole Police Immigration check post said , ‘We examine the health of each passenger and issuing clearance’.

However, a government order on May 13 stated that those without symptoms of corona virus do not need to be placed in institutional quarantine.

Only those with corona symptoms will be kept in a 14-day institutional quarantine at a government hospital.

Benapole Immigration Inspector of Police Md. Mahasin Uddin said 1,090 Bangladeshis have returned to the country from India in the last four days. They have been given clearance after checking their health. No corona symptoms were found in anyone's body in the last 4 days.

Sharsha Upazila Nirbahi Officer Pulak Kumar Mandal said those who do not have corona symptoms will not be kept in the institutional quarantine. 

And those who are found to have corona symptoms will be taken in the institutional quarantine at Sharsha Upazila Health Complex. Immigration process is being completed in the normal way for those entering Bangladesh from India.
