Bangladesh Premier League franchise Sylhet Sixers have roped in David Warner for the upcoming edition of tournament, scheduled to start from January 5, reports Cricbuzz.
”We believe he is a player of great impact especially when it comes to T20 cricket,” Sixers CEO Yasir Obaid said, confirming to Cricbuzz about Warner’s signing on Friday
(October 26).
”He is a player with wealth of experience when it comes to handling the pressure of Twenty20 cricket and we are excited to have him in our dressing room,” he added.
Obaid also confirmed the services of Nepal legspinner Sandeep Lamichhane as their second foreign signing outside the draft.
”I am very excited to let you know that I am part a Sixers. I cannot wait to be part of Sylhet Sixers family,” Warner was quoted in a video post in the Sixers official Facebook page.
Sixers, who retained Nasir Hossain and Sabbir Rahman along with Sohail Tanvir, also bolstered their strength by signing Liton Das, who was released by Comilla Victorians.
The players draft is schedule to take place on October 28.
