The National Vitamin ‘A’ Plus campaign was held across the country on Saturday. Over two crore children aged from six to 59 months were fed the ‘A’ Plus capsules.
In Rangpur, the National Vitamin ‘A’ Plus Campaign (first round) was inaugurated in City Bhaban. Mayor of Rangpur Mostafizar Rahman Mostafa formally launched the campaign by administering Vitamin ‘A’ Plus Capsules to a number of under five babies.
Chief Health Officer of Rangpur City Corporation (RpCC) Dr Kamruzzaman Ibne Taz presided over the function, while Chief Executive Officer of RpCC Abu Saleh Mohammad Musa Jongi and Councilor of Ward No-23 Md Sekendar Ali attended the function as special guests.
In Dinajpur, mayor Phulbari municipality Murtuja Sarkar Manik inaugurated the campaign in
municipality by administering Vitamin ‘A’ Plus Capsules to a number of babies.
Sanitary Inspector of the municipality Murad Hossain, Immunization Supervisor Sheikh Sohrab Ali Hira and others were present.
In Gopalganj, Civil Surgeon D Tarun Mondal inaugurated the campaign in the morning. Additional Secretary of Health Ministry
Mostaq Hasan visited different centers in Kashiani and Muksudpur upazilas.
According to Civil Surgeon office, around 1.92 lakh children were feed vitamin A plus capsule in the district.
In Laxmipur, the campaign for feeding vitamin-A Plus capsule was inaugurated in Laxmipur Sadar Hospital in morning.
District Civil Surgeon D Mostafa Khaled Ahmed presided over the inaugural ceremony while Deputy Commissioner Anjon Chandra Pal attended as the chief guest. Sadar Upazila Executive Officer Md Shajahan Ali, district family planning deputy director D Ashfaqur Rahman Mamun, among others, were present at the programme.
In Narail, Civil surgeon Dr Asad-uz-Zaman Munshi inaugurated the campaign at Charbilla Community Clinic of Shahabad UP under sadar upazila.
Narail Health and Family Planning Division Deputy Director Shamsul Alam along with other Health Department officials were present, among others, on the occasion.
