University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh on Monday held an interactive discussion meeting with World Bank representative on ‘System Approach for Better Education Results in Tertiary Education (SABER-TE)’ at the UGC Auditorium.
Presided over by UGC member Professor Dr. Mohammad Yousuf Ali Mollah, Education Specialist Dr. Koen Geven of World Bank Group (Global Engagement and Knowledge Education) presented a keynote paper where numbers of Vice-Chancellors and Pro Vice-Chancellors of different public and private universities attended the programme.
Following the presentation of the keynote paper, participants took part on an open discussion on the topic.
Various aspects of higher education including vision, regulatory framework, quality assurance, governance, finance, enrolment, teaching, learning, research, admission test, teachers’ training, publication and relevance of tertiary education were highlighted in the open discussion.
UGC member Professor Dr. Md. Akhter Hossain, UGC Secretary Dr. Md. Khaled, project director of Higher Education Quality Enhancement Project (HEQEP) Dr. Gauranga Chandra Mohanta ndc, Senior Operations Officer of World Bank-Dhaka Dr.Md. Mokhlesur Rahman and officials from UGC, HEQEP and BdREN attended the session among others.
