Bangladesh U-18 girls crushed Pakistan 17-0 in their SAFF U-18 Championship match at Changlimithang Stadium in Thimphu, Bhutan Sunday.
The girls in red and green brushed aside the opposition and now look strong favourite to lift the title.
After the first half, girls were leading the first half by 8-0 goals.
Siraj Jahan Shopna and Marzia made hat-tricks scoring three goals each while Captain Mishrat Jahan Mousumi and Sheuli Azim netted one each for Bangladesh in the first half.
In the second half, the girls scored 9 more goals to hand Pakistan 17-0 defeat.
In the day’s Group A match, hosts Bhutan outplayed the Maldives by 13-0 goals at the same venue on Sunday.
Earlier in the SAFF U-15 Championship, Bangladesh U-15 Women’s team outplayed Pakistan by 14-0 goals in Bhutan last August and the Bangladesh Men’s team also beat Pakistan 1-0 in the SAFF Championship in Dhaka early this month. Earlier in the Group matches, Nepal made a flying start crushing Pakistan by massive 12-0 goals while India also made a good start beating hosts hosts Bhutan 4-0 on the opening day (Friday) on the same venue.
