Two drug peddlers were detained and contraband drugs were recovered from their possession from Akhaura upazila in Brahmanbaria on Sunday night, said a press release.
The release signed by RAB-14 assistant director of Bhairab camp Chandan Debnath and sent to media on Sunday also claimed that 310 pieces of Yaba, 20 bottles of contraband phensydil syrup and 11 pethadin injections were recovered from their possession.
The detainees have been identified as Jumaan Mia (22), son of late Karam Ali, and Jubair Ahmed Jony (20), son of Jamshed Ali.
According to the release, acting on a tip off, a group of RAB personnel detained the duo from Jumman Mia’s home at Kourati village of the upazila.
They will be handed over to Akhaura Police Station and sued under the Narcotics Control Act.
