Toyota has built on its dependable reputation by becoming the latest mainstream car maker to offer a comprehensive five-year warranty on all of its vehicles.
The Japanese brand announced its new Toyota Warranty Advantage in Melbourne today as part of its annual sales result press conference, where it was confirmed as the best-selling brand in the country for the 16th year in sucession with the Toyota HiLux remaining the country’s favourite new car.
Available on all new vehicles sold from January 1, 2019 – from the Yaris city car through the rugged LandCruiser as well as commercial vehicles – the five-year warranty (which has unlimited kilometre coverage for passenger vehicles and 160,000km for commercial vehicles) is extended to seven years of coverage for powertrains if owners regularly service their vehicle with a Toyota dealership and use genuine parts.
On top of that, Toyota is offering a 60-day money-back guarantee for any faulty vehicle and a similar offer for vehicles that fail to be repaired over the same time period.
Toyota will also cover towing charges for a vehicle that requires a warranty repair and is undriveable, and will provide a loan car during the time it takes to rectify the fault.
