Nigerian forward Sunday Chizoba Nwadialu plundered a second-half hat-trick as Dhaka Abahani stormed into the finals of Walton Federation Cup with a 4-2 win over Sheikh Jamal DC in the first semi-final on Sunday.
It was a game of attacking tempo, where both sides almost had an equal share of ball possession. Both sides had ample amount of chances to score. However, Abahani had the last laugh.
In the first half, Nigeria forward Sunday went close to scoring in the 14th minute when his shot from the left side of the six-yard box went wide. Sunday got another chance in 33th minute, but his power shot flew over the post. Both teams were scoreless in first half of the game.
However, Afghan forward MashiSaghani gave Abahani the lead within 12th minutes into the second half from a corner kick.
Five minutes later, Abahani were awarded a penalty and Sunday scored. They again got a penalty after that and Sunday converted it perfectly.
However, Sheikh Jamal came back into the game by scoring in the 74th and 81st minute respectively. However, Sunday’s 91st minute
goal was enough to see them through to the finals.
In the other semi-final match, Bashundhara Kings will lock horns with Sheikh Russell Krira Chakra on November 20. The match will kick off at 5 PM at the same venue.
