Country’s largest publicly-listed independent power producer Summit Power Limited has received the Integrated Management
System (IMS) certifications for its Barisal and Narayanganj Unit II power plants.
The IMS certification includes Environment Management System (EMS) – ISO 14001:2015, Quality Management System (QMS) – ISO 9001:2015 and Occupational Health and Safety Assessment (OHSAS) – OHSAS 18001:2007.
Managing Director of Summit Power Limited Lt Gen Abdul Wadud (Rtd) received IMS certifications for its Barisal and Narayanganj Unit II power plants from Country Manager, Bureau Veritas Bangladesh ( Pvt) Ltd Sohel Azad, in Dhaka on Sunday.
As a result of these certifications, Summit is showing continued commitment to its business performance and gaining competitive advantage. Bureau Veritas, the world’s leading certification service provider has already certified other operating power plants of Summit Group.
The event was organised at Spectra Convention Centre in Dhaka.
Financial Controller & Company Secretary of Summit Power Swapon Kumar Pal, ACA, Head of Business Development of Bureau Veritas (Bangladesh) Mukut K Barua, Head of Certification Md Towfiqul Arif were also present in the certificate hand-over ceremony.
Summit Power Limited (SPL) is the leading private power producer of Bangladesh and a publicly listed company in Dhaka and Chittagong Stock Exchanges. Presently Summit Group is generating 1,941MW electricity to the national power grid.
Recently, Summit Power Limited has constructed two new power plants in Kodda, Gazipur with capacity of generation capacity of 449MW which are already generating power.
Power generation concerns of Summit Group have received the best power plant awards from the government of Bangladesh for four consecutive years since 2013. In addition, Summit Power Limited has received consecutive AAA long term credit ratings from CRISL since March 2017.
