Standard Chartered Bank Bangladesh recently welcomed José Viñals, Group Chairman, Standard Chartered PLC, for his maiden visit to Bangladesh.
During his visit, he met a number of the clients of the bank in Dhaka and Chattogram, through a series of meetings and client events. He also engaged with leading economists, senior diplomats, regulators and policymakers. In his conversations, he exchanged views on how Bangladesh can continue on its high growth trajectory and reiterated the Bank’s commitment to drive commerce and prosperity in Bangladesh, said a press release.

José is an economist, and has spent 25 years
at the Central Bank in Spain
where he became the Deputy Governor.
Subsequently he also played an important role in IMF during 2009 and 2016 where he was the Financial Counsellor and the Director of the Monetary and Capital Markets Department.
