A speech competition was held in Jhenidah on Thursday afternoon marking the national electricity and energy week. The competition was held in the conference room of the deputy commissioner.
Presided over by deputy commissioner Saroj Kumar Nath, additional deputy commissioner (general) Bakahid Hossain, additional
district magistrate Mohammad Asaduzzaman, west zone power development company limited’s executive engineer Paritosh Chandra Sarker, Jhenidah Sadar upazila nirbahi officer Shammi Islam, among others, attended as special guests.
Conducted by assistant commissioner Razia Akter Chowdhury, District children affairs officer Ayub Hossain, headmaster of Jhenidah Government Boys High School Nazrul Islam, headmaster of Jhenidah Government Girls High School Aagar Ali and former principal of Jhenidah Government Nurunnahar Women’s College NM Shahjalal, among others, were present there.
The organizers said that 12 selected participants from six upazilas of the district participated in the speech competition on renewable energy, energy skill and energy preservation.
Deputy commissioner Saroj Kumar Nath distributed prizes among the winners.
