Bangladesh Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury on Tuesday made a courtesy call on President M Abdul Hamid at parliament complex office, reports BSS.
“During the meeting, the Speaker apprised the President of overall activities of the 10th Jatiya Sangsad (JS),” President’s Press Secretary Joynal Abedin told the state news agency. The head of the state, who was also former Speaker of the parliament, also thanked Dr Chaudhury to conduct the House proceedings.
President Hamid, during the meeting, also mentioned the role of the 10th Jatiya Sangsad in developing country’s hard-earned democracy.
Deputy Speaker Mohammad Fazley Rabbi Miah, Whips- Atiur Rahman Atik and Iqbalur Rahim, secretaries concerned and high officials of the JS were present.
Later, Abdul Hamid visited the Speaker’s office.
