Former Australia captain Steve Smith, who is currently banned from playing in the national team is all set to play in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) for the first time, report
agencies.
After being involved in the ball tampering scandal and the announcement of the ban, Smith has not been into cricket much for a while. But seeing the availability of Smith, BPL franchise Comilla Victorians have made the best use of the opportunity and signed him. Comilla Victorians, who won the BPL title once under the captaincy of Mashrafe Bin Mortaza have announced via Facebook on Monday that they have signed the Australian superstar.

However, they are yet to reveal the name as they have posted a blurred photo and asked the fans to guess the player. But for the cricket lovers, it is too easy to guess the one of the best batsman in the world. The upcoming season of BPL is likely to become the most exciting one so far. Former South Africa captain AB de Villiers is all set to play his first BPL season along with David Warner, who is also banned along with Smith. Warner will play for Sylhet Royals while de Villiers is set to play for the defending champions Rangpur Riders.
