Despite compensation and repeated announcement by the metro rail project authority, dwellers of Karwan Bazar slum are reluctant to leave their occupation, sources said.
Eye witnesses said members of Tejgaon police station on Monday made a public announcement through loudspeaker urging the slum dwellers to leave their occupied land as the project work of that portion is approaching.
Sources said the authority has been making this announcement for last few days and the administration would go on an eviction drive soon.
