After successfully concluding the first ever Indo Bangla Automotive show, Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) will be organising the second edition of the show, jointly with Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA) scheduled from 20 to 23 February 2019 at International Convention City Bashundhara, Dhaka, Bangladesh. The automotive show will showcase the latest products manufactured by the members of SIAM & ACMA.
This event is supported by Ministry of Heavy Industries & Public Enterprises, Government of India, High Commission of India in Dhaka, India-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IBCCI), Bangladesh Automobile Assemblers & Manufacturers Association (BAAMA), Bangladesh Motorcycle Assemblers & Manufacturers Association (BMAMA). This will be an event of international standard in line with other events organised by SIAM.
Speaking about the event, Vishnu Mathur, Director General, SIAM, said, “After witnessing a successful first edition of the motor show, we are now keen to organise the bigger and better second edition of Indo-Bangla Automotive Show 2019 in Dhaka. With the support of our member companies, Government, ACMA, IBCCI, BAAMA & BMAMA we are certain that this year will also be a success story for both India and Bangladesh trade relations. Bangladesh has immense scope for business and investment. The bilateral economic engagement will benefit both countries as one is an automotive hub and other has wide scope of building an automotive eco system.”
Like last edition, the Motor Show will witness many Indian and Bangladeshi automobile majors like Ashok Leyland, Bajaj Auto, Eicher Trucks and Buses, Hero MotoCorp, Honda Motorcycles, Mahindra & Mahindra, Maruti-Suzuki, Runner Automobiles, SML Isuzu, Tata Motors, TVS Motors, Yamaha and their Bangladeshi partners like ACI Motors, Bangladesh Honda, Ifad Autos, Karnaphuli, Niloy Motors, Nitol Motors, Rancon Motors, Rangs Motors, Runner Motors, TVS Auto Bangladesh, Uttara Motors, Force Motors, Renault etc are expected to participate in the show. In the 2019 edition some Indian component manufacturers like Minda Industries, Anand Pistons, Kishan Auto, Bharat Gears, National Engineering and few tyre manufacturers are also expected to participate in the show. Automotive Skills Development Council (ASDC) and International Centre for Automotive Technology (ICAT) who set up their stalls in 2017 edition will also be present in this edition.
Vinnie Mehta, Director General, ACMA said, “The Bangladesh automotive market is on a growth trajectory. A sizeable vehicle parts not only offers a significant opportunity for the Indian auto component manufacturers to service the aftermarket, but the presence of the Indian auto manufacturers in Bangladesh offers yet another opportunity for OEM-supply. ACMA is optimistic that the participation of its members at the 2nd Indo- Bangla Automotive Show 2019 in Dhaka will further the interest of Indian auto component manufacturers. ACMA members will be showcasing engine components, drive transmission & steering, suspension and braking parts among others.”
Along with the automobile and automotive companies, various government departments, dealers and service agents will also participate in the event. There will be parallel workshops and seminars during the show where Indian industry and Government officials plan to share their experience in handling 2nd hand vehicles creating a regulatory framework and auto policy to promote vehicle manufacturers.
The motto to organise this show is not only to showcase the world class offerings from the Indian automobile manufacturers but also to share the experience of Indian Automobile industry & Government to create a thriving automobile manufacturing industry. Special activities like Safety Riding/ Stunt activities, multi cuisine food including Indian delicacies will be added attraction for Bangladeshi visitors.
