Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s younger daughter Sheikh Rehana said her elder sister Sheikh Hasina’s responsibilities have increased all the more after becoming Prime Minister for the fourth term.
Sheikh Rehana made the comment in her immediate reaction after emerging from the oath-taking ceremony of the new cabinet members at Darbar Hall of Bangabhaban on Monday. Sheikh Hasina’s younger sister Sheikh Rehana said, ‘I seek blessings all so that my sister (Sheikh Hasina) can fulfil her major responsibility as PM properly to continue the country’s forward march.’
She is one of the catalysts behind the development programs Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has so soundly initiated because she has all the time stood by the Prime Minister with solid assistance and ethical stimulus. She, like Bangabandhu, has a profoundly patriotic approach to Bangladesh.
Sheikh Rehana, born 13 September 1957, is the daughter of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and younger sister of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
She is married to Shafiq Siddique, a professor in Dhaka University. Her son, Radwan Mujib Siddiq Bobby, is a councillor of Bangladesh Awami League. Her daughter, Tulip Siddiq, was a Member of Parliament in the United Kingdom for Hampstead and Kilburn constituency.
