Foreign Minister (FM) Abul Hasan Mahmood Ali has said Sheikh Hasina should be brought to power again for building a Sonar Bangla as dreamt by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, reports BSS.
“Massive developments have taken place in all sectors in the last 10 years.
We need more developments in the greater national interests to realise Bangabandhu’s dream of building a prosperous Sonar Bangla,” Mahmood said.
He was addressing a function arranged on Baladangi High School ground to inaugurate construction works of its academic building in Khansama upazila of Dinajpur as part of his day-long programmes there on Thursday as the chief guest.
Presided over by chairman of the School Governing Committee Shudhir Chandra Sarker, headmaster of the school Enamul Haque delivered the welcome speech on the occasion.
The minister said the country achieved laudable developments in the last 10 years as a result of the farsighted leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and politics of development of Awami League (AL).
Mahmood called upon the common people to vote for the symbol ‘Boat’ in the upcoming parliamentary poll for continuation of development to build a middle income nation by 2021 and a developed country by 2041.
Later, the minister inaugurated construction of the new academic building of Goaldighee Girls’ High School and the newly-constructed academic building of Pakerhat Islamia Kamil Madrasa, Vertical expansion works of the academic buildings of Magurmari High School and Pakerhat High School and new academic building of Dakshin Garpara High School in separate functions at different places.
Besides, Mahmood inaugurated carpeting works on the Balapara-Panchpeer road, New Pakerhat-Telipara road, Ramnagar-Hokerhat road and Kachina-Garpara road and constriction works on a bride on the river Belan in Brindarbazar area of the upazila.
The foreign minister’s wife Shahin Ali, executive engineer of the Education Engineering Department Mizanur Rahman, Khansama Upazila Nirbahi Officer Ahmed Mahbub-Ul Islam, president of Upazila AL Shah Md Abdul Jabbar, Upazila Engineer Subir Kumar Sarkar and CHAIRMEN of six unions of the upazila, leaders of AL and its associate bodies attended the functions.
