Land Minister Shamsur Rahman Sherif on Saturday said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has ensured secularism across the country, reports BSS.
“Our PM has ensured secularism in the country…the anti-liberation forces are out to spread propaganda that Hinduism will emerge in the country if AL comes to power again,” he said.
He was speaking as the chief guest at a thanksgiving function to the PM as the government recognized Dawra degree of Qawmi madrasa as equivalent to master’s degree, on Bharatpur Madiatul Uloom Islamia Madrasa premises at Chadva union under Atgharia upazila.
AL is devoted to secularism, democracy and sovereignty of the Independent Bangladesh, he said
Recalling the contributions of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the land minister said Bangabandhu had established the Islamic Foundation, allotted space at Tongi for holding Bishwa Ijtema and constructed Kakrail Mosque.
Sherif urged the electorates to vote Awami League to power again for continuing the ongoing development endeavours across the country.
Renowned businessman Isharat Ali presided over the programme while upazila executive officer Akram Ali, district AL general secretary Abdul Gafur Miah and Chadva union AL President Ashraful Alam were present, among others.
