Gulshan Lake, located at a prime residential area of the city, sees extreme and wanton pollution of water all the year round. Occasionally Gulshan scoeity takes measures to make the local residents aware of the health hazards related to such high degree
of water and environment
pollution but after the
campaign soon it comes back to square one. The lake is under the DNCC and this organisation also takes occasional measures but nbothing can minimise the level of
pollution as local residents on both sides of the lake keep throwing garbage and waste water directly into the water. The picture here shows fish of
different sizes dying in large number in the extremely
polluted water of the lake. The authorities concerned should do something about
it at the earliest.
