Seven people including five women and drivers of two vehicles were killed and 23 others injured in two separate accidents on the Western side of Bangabandhu Bridge in Sirajganj sadar on Thursday.
Five women were killed as two buses and a truck collided near Kodda traffic police outpost at 11:30am.
Drivers of two truck also died as the collided head-on at Saidabad intersection at 1:0am.
Locals said a bus of Priya Paribahan was taking passengers parking it on the middle of road at Kodda crossing and a speeding bus of Alif Parbahan hit it from behind pushing it on the median. At the same time a loaded truck from the opposite director hit the bus of Priya Paribahan leaving five of its passengers dead. Police rushing the spot, sent the injured and dead people to Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib General Hospital. The dead women were identified as Asyesha Khatun, 30, Shirin Begum, 55, Rehana Begum, 40, Romana Khatun, 16, and Ridi Khatun 14.
