Saplings planted in many places of Sylhet to pay tributes to 30 lakh martyrs of country’s Liberation War. Chairman of Jaintapur upazila Alhajj Jainal Abedin and Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mourin Karim take part in the tree plantation programme in the upazila on Wednesday.

Saplings were planted across the country on Wednesday to pay tributes to 30 lakh martyrs of the country’s Liberation War on the occasion of National Tree Plantation Campaign and Tree Fair this year.
The tree plantation began on Wednesday. A total of 30 lakh saplings of fruit, medicinal and timber trees will be planted across the country in this rainy season in honour to the martyrs of the Liberation War.

In Sylhet, saplings were planted in many places of the district to pay tributes to 30 lakh martyrs of the country’s Liberation War. Like other places, the National Tree Plantation Campaign and Tree Fair was observed in Jaintapur upazila. Chairman of the upazila Alhajj Jainal Abedin and Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mourin Karim took part in tree plantation programme. In Gazipur, the tree plantation programmes were arranged in different parts of the district, reports our Gazipur Correspondent.
Teachers and students of all primary schools of Gazipur participated in the programme. Like others, teachers and students of Pazolia Government Primary School planted trees on the premises of the school. Head Mistress of the school Zorna Barmon led the plantation programme.
In Jamalpur, the tree plantation programme aiming to planting 54 thousand saplings began in the district, reports our Jamalpur Correspondent.
Deputy Commissioner Ahmed Kabir inaugurated the programme on Jamalpur High School compound in the district town as the chief guest.
Mayor of Jamalpur Municipality Mirza Sakhawatul Alam Moni presided over the inaugural function, while Superintendent of Police Md Delwar Hossain, vice- president of the district Awami League Syed Atiqur Rahman Sana and Forest Department acting Forrester Khalilur Rahman spoke at the meeting, among others,
A total of 54,000 saplings of fruit, medicinal and timber trees will be planted in seven upazilas in the district in honour to the martyrs of the Liberation War.
In Barguna, Dhirendra Nath Shambhu, MP of Barguna-1 constituency, inaugurated the tree plantation programme at Barguna District School in the district town as the chief guest, reports our Barguna Correspondent.
The district administration and the forest department jointly arranged the function. Deputy Commissioner of Barguna Md Mukhlesur Rahman also attended the function.
