Awami League Presidium Member Syeda Sajeda Chowdhury has been appointed as the deputy leader of the 11th parliament.
President Abdul Hamid, now undergoing treatment at a hospital in Singapore, made the appointment through an e-filing on Monday, Joynal Abedin, press secretary to the president who is now also in Singapore, informed media.
The veteran AL leader has been made the deputy leader of the JS for the second consecutive term.
She was also deputy leader of the House of the Awami League’s immediate past tenure.
Sajeda Chowdhury contested and won in the December 30 national election from Faridpur-2 parliamentary constituency.
