Newcomers Bashundhara Kings midfielder Tawhidul Alam Sabuz scored a last minute goal during extra time against Russel Krira Chakra to secure his team’s place in the final of Walton Federation Cup. Bashudhara Kings won the match by 1-0 in the second semi-final at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Tuesday.
They will now confront with Abahani in the final on November 23 at the same venue.
Both sides created ample amount of chances in the first half but neither could break the dead lock. Ibrahim got a chance for Kings in 22th minute to take lead but his left foot shot was saved by goalkeeper Rana. Both teams played well but could not score in the first half.
Second half started with the same tempo, but Kings were more dominant. Their star player Deniel Colindres got the chance during 60th minute but his shot went over the bar. In 83th minute Kings came close to take the lead when Spanish player Jorge Gotor Bles shot hit the goal post. The match ended 0-0 after 90 minutes and then went to extra time.
Kings finally found the goal at extra time (120th minute), when Sabuz’s low shot found the net to send Bashundhara Kings into the finals.
