Jatiya Party President HM Ershad has appointed party’s presidium member Mashiur Rahman Ranga as the party’s secretary general after removing ABM Ruhul Amin Howlader from his position.
“You (Ranga) have been given the charge of Jatiya Party’s secretary general. This decision has been taken as per the article 20/1/ka of theJatiya Party’s constitution,” said a letter sent to Ranga on Monday from the party’s letterhead from Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad.
The decision would be implemented without delay, said Ershad’s Political Secretary and Jatiya Party Presidium Member Sunil Shuvo Roy in a statement to the media.
The surprise decision came a day after the Election Commission scrapped the nomination paper of party’s secretary general Ruhul Amin Hawladar for being a loan defaulter.
