Miscreants in the Nayapara Rohingya refugee camp at Teknaf upazila Cox’s Bazar have shot three people of a family on Monday evening.The injured are Azizul Haque, 50, son of Hossain Ali, resident of Nayapara camp’s I block number one (MRC-5343, Shed-55, his wife Taiba Begum (40) and son Hossain Zohar, 16. Assistant Sub-Inspector of Nayapara Camp Police Golam Azam said that the police went to the scene in response to reports of a shooting in the Nayapara camp. The 3 injured were found there and taken to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital for better treatment. Officer-in-Charge of Teknaf Police Station Pradip Kumar Das said that Rohingya criminals Nurul Alam and Mohammad Sadek invaded I-Block of Nayapara Rohingya camp and entered Azizul Haque’s residence. At that time the family began to scream and the gunmen fired at them. The noise attracted the neighbours, who came forward, at which point the attackers fired empty rounds and escaped to the surrounding hills.  Locals rescued the injured and took them to the camp’s health department. After initial treatment, due to their critical condition they were admitted to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital. Each family member is reported to have 2-3 bullet wounds.  Police operation to arrest the miscreants is ongoing.
